miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

As I was washing the coffee pot I looked down in the sink and realized we don’t have a complete set of matching dishes.  The set we got when we first got married didn’t have normal sized cereal bowls and I think that one of the dinner plates has been broken.  We have two plates that were sent home with us with left overs from Sunday dinners at Zack’s moms house years ago.  The other plates are from a set that belonged to my mother.  They are chipped, cracked and not microwave safe.  I honestly think we eat off the kids plates more often than not.  Theirs consist of those melamine plates with cartoon characters on them. :-p  Goal this year get a new set of dishes and get rid of the rest!  I’ll keep my moms set but I’ll put it up.

spring break

One week.  The count down is on.  I can not wait.  I used to dread this time of year when Kelsie wasn’t in school.  The reason why is because Kayla was going to be at home with us and disrupt our routine.  Now that Kelsie is in school and I’m working…I can’t wait!  Sleeping in, pj’s all day and staying up late.  Bring it on!

field trips

This Friday Kelsie is going on her first Kindgarten field trip. They are going to Gulf World. We have been once since she was born. It's a lot of fun when you don't go that often. We had thought about getting season passes last year but then didn't. We decided that after so many show repeats we'd get bored of it.  After all the same shows {words and all} are the same ones that they used when Kayla was in Kindergarten.  I think it’s about time to switch things up a bit.

I have so many things floating around in my mind that I need to get done before next week and I keep saying I'm going to write them down and don't. I will make my to do list today. Or at least I'll try.

When it's November we all have the chance to be thankful for various things in our life. However when was the last time you thought about what your thankful for in March? This happened to me yesterday. Something happend and as soon as I realized it, I shouted "Thank you God!". It was something that will make a big difference in our home and something that I am extremely thankful for. Something that I know that we wouldn't have without God. So Thank you God!

We don't technically have matching dishes either. We have a bunch of different colors of Fiesta Ware that we got right after we got married. My boys are out of school today and tomorrow for Mardi Gras and I totally get the whole messing up your routine boys didn't even sleep late this morning!

So true that we need to be thankful daily instead of just in November. I need to work on that. I can see why you'd be counting down to Spring break...I would too! I can't wait for vacation. I think that's so sweet you have dishes from your mom. We need new dishes as well and I would like to get Fiestaware! to make your lists :)
