{1} Another month of Summer gone. School officially starts in 21 days. :-/ I admit that I’ve said the “I can’t wait until school starts!” phrase a few times in the past couple of months, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty…I’m gonna miss sleeping late, swimming all day, staying up late and not living by a schedule. I sure am gonna miss this…
{2} We spent the entire weekend in the pool. Oh and we may or may not have eaten half of a watermelon while floating around. ;) It was wonderful!
{3} Kelsie rode her 4 wheeler around in the hot sticky heat on Saturday while Zack cut the grass. It’s the first time she’s been on it in months. It’s really just been way too hot. She had a blast pretending something about Jacob from Twilight and Fairies.
{4} Discovered you can make corn dogs at home! They were delicious and I will share that recipe this week with y’all. Far more healthy than the store bought ones, that’s for sure.
{5} We have an obsession. I am assuming that it’s because you can’t buy it in a store and if your not a hunter then you have to know one in order to get some of it. I am talking about deer. Yes, we eat Bambi. Just don’t think about it that way. It’s lean and oh. so. tasty! Zack knows a guy at work that had some deer sausage a couple of weeks ago. He ask him if we could buy some of it and the guy told him that he needed to check his stash. Well, he came back to work the next day with two packs of it…the best part he said “no charge”. Score!
{6} We are headed to the eye doctor this afternoon. A couple of weeks ago we went in for Kayla to get contacts. She’s worn glasses since she was 5. {she’s now 12} Well, it took her a while but the last week she has managed to get them in and out in less than 5 minutes. This is a huge accomplishment. The first few days it was taking 45 minutes to an hour. She’s excited about it and so am I!

I could eat a whole watermelon myself. Love it :)
I've only had venison in chili, and it's a different kind of taste but not bad! I'd love to try a burger or something so that I can really enjoy the flavor.

My Kayla is not allowed to grow up...sniff. I've worn glasses since I was 3! That pool looks so yummy...I'm hoping to get to one before school resumes. That sausage actually sounds pretty yummy... especially since it's spicy. I love that you didn't have to pay...SCORE is right!
We are starting school in 16 days. And the pool and watermelon sound great! I might have to do that, too. Except we have a baby pool :)

Oh your girls are so cute. I told you this before, and I'll probably say it again.
I hope your girl's contact situation gets easier. They will always suck (having to wear them), but at least she has the option now. And when she gets older she can use the colored contacts to change up her look :)
Yum to the homemade corndogs! I usually only eat them at the fair, but I would love to make some at home! I bet Kayla is so excited about her contacts...I remember being so glad to get rid of my glasses when I was in high school!
