Oh, and don’t be afraid, corn dog batter isn’t hard to make! I didn’t have a recipe to use I just sorta made it up as I went. They turned out delicious and the kids loved them.
The corn dog batter recipe goes as follows…buy a yellow corn muffin mix! Yea, it’s that easy. *smiles*
What do you need?
- yellow corn muffin mix
- 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp sugar
- hot dogs of your choice {we used Hillshire Farms Cheesy Brats}
- hot oil
- First you mix the yellow corn muffin mix according to the directions on the box. If you use the one I did {in the picture} then you’ll use 1/2 cup water or milk. I went with water.
- Next mix in the sugar.
- {I made bites so you can skip this part if your making actual corn dogs.} Cut all the hot dogs into 3 equal pieces.
- Batter one at a time and drop it into hot oil. The hotter the better. You don’t want the batter to come off.
- Remove from oil when golden brown.

That is the best kind of food. If I wasn't scared to fry things I would have to try this...maybe one day I'll get over my fear.
That does sound good AND easy. But I'm with Kelli, I too have a frying fear. Not sure why. I'm a chicken, I guess. :)
That does sound pretty easy. I'm gonna write this one down!
I agree with your last statement...it doesn't have to be pretty to taste good! :o)
I also agree that good food doesn't have to look good to taste good! That's the way it usually is at my house, too! Hubby and daughter love corn dogs so I will have to try this soon!
Wow now these sound fabulous. I have been trying all sorts of new recipes so this would be perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings!
