Holding Your Self Accountable

My mind is buzzing with so many plans, so many crafts, so many activities, so many emotions, so many wants and so many needs.

I have a mental list of what all I’d like to do and get accomplished.  Some how some things never get finished and some things never even get started.

I have thought many times about how to manage all these “ideas” but have come up with nothing.  It also got put on the mental to start list that never got started.

Right now there are a few things that need to get done and things that need to get started.

Here are some things floating around in my mind:

  • Finish the master bathroom
  • Finish the kitchen
  • Make Kayla a ragamuffin monogram
  • Paint the hallway
  • Add a full length mirror to Kayla’s room
  • Paint all the doors white and add new hardware
  • Start cutting and actually using coupons {doing that whole system where it seems lot’s of y’all are saving hundreds of dollars a month}
  • Add glass panes to my entertainment stand in the living room
  • Start saving money for Christmas
  • Get the pool cleaned out and ready to use this summer
  • Redecorate and organize the laundry room
  • Plan out Kayla’s birthday party
  • Plan out Kelsie’s birthday party
  • Plan out Zack’s 30th birthday
  • Tear down the shed
  • Move and rebuild the kids swing set
  • Plant our container garden
  • Make sure to run around with the kids everyday {this not only helps me mentally but physically as well}
  • Have a weekly in house date night with Zack {complete with either dinner, movie, snacks, board games, laying under the stars, smores by the fire, etc}

Wow, that’s a lot.  Getting it all wrote down made me realize I have a lot going on in my mind.  Now, how do I make sure these things get started and or finished?

Obviously my list has a lot of things that we need to get going on.  Other things can wait.

How do y’all plan things out?  What’s on your to do list?  How long do you think it will take to complete yours?

Ahh the running list...it can drive us crazy. I say pick one...just one, finish and it will motivate you to the next one or two. I get into the bad habit of thinking it all has to be done NOW and then get down on myself when it's not done or even started. I think all at once looking at it can be overwhelming but it you break it down it'll all be done in no time. Now...if I can just follow my own advice.

That's a very long list! My life is a constant muddle. I make lists and lose them. I am not much help, sorry!
Good luck with your list.

I know exactly how you feel. So many things to do. I make lists every day but I still dont get everything done! Its so hard to find time to do all of the things going on between a full time job, college, football & dance.

Good luck!

I love your list!!! I too need to start thinking about christmas! I find that having a get together at your house is a great motivator for me to get things done!!! Also check out moneysavingmom.com she is really good at simplifying the coupon usage strategy where it does not take all your time!
