Gone Fishin’ Cookies {52 Cookies in a Year – Week 2}

Gone Fishin’ Cookies

What will you need?

  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup honey roasted peanuts
  • 1/2 cup Goldfish crackers –Pretzel flavored

What do you do?

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.  In large bowl, beat sugars, butter, shortening, vanilla and egg until light and fluffy.  Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.  Stir in chocolate chips, peanuts and pretzels.
  2. Onto greased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.  Cool for one minute and remove to cooling rack.

These cookies may seem like they have some strange ingredients but oh my goodness these are GOOD!  They have quickly become all of our favorite!

Some of the ingredients do seem a bit odd. I'll have to try them myself to see if we love them too!
