What’s For Dinner Thursday

Today I will share a recipe that is a family favorite.  This recipe was given to my mother when I was about 10 or 11 years old by my great aunt Golda.  Get this ya’ll, she was nearly legally blind but she would still get in the kitchen and cook up a storm!
The first time I had this dish she prepared it at our house.  Enjoy!
Taco Pie
May 027
What will you need?
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 envelope taco seasoning mix
1 (4 oz) can green chilies, drained, seeded and chopped (optional)
1 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 1/4 cup milk
3 eggs
3/4 cup Bisquick
What do you do?
Lightly grease a 10 inch pie plate (we use a brownie dish).  Cook and stir beef and onion in skillet until brown.  Drain and stir in taco mix; spread beef mixture in pie plate.  Sprinkle with chilies (optional) and cheese.  Beat remaining ingredients until smooth.  Pour this mixture over the meat mixture in pie plate.  Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.  Let cool 10 minutes before cutting.
Serve with sour cream and salsa!
Enjoy!
I hope that y'all will join up as well and share your recipes! Don't forget to grab the button from the sidebar for your link back.

Oh man! I don't have anything this week. I will next week because I'm trying something new. I need to mark this on my calendar. The taco pie looks very yummy!

Hey girl-I'm sitting here reading all of your posts that I have missed, and decided to comment on this one. I love food, and we love this recipe! My boys will actually eat this, and I don't have to make 3 differents meals! Thanks for reminding me of it, I haven't made it in a while.

Hope this week is better!

Dropping by from Kelly's Korner.
My father found something similar from Taste of Home my senior year of High School. This is one of his favorite things to make. And wish I had more often. The only bad part of being single having to eat all the leftovers or throw them out.
