Dear Sir and Madam…

This was very fitting today…I saw this on Lilith's blog about a new meme you can find here. And I thought that was great, because I mean no these parents won’t read this, but at least I am getting it off of my chest.
Scene ~ Dentist Office
Dear Sir and Madam…
Why is it you must bring your entire family (all 6 of you) while I am here for an appointment? The waiting area is small, your little ones are running around, climbing up and down chairs and although you tell your children to sit still, behave, be quiet, etc, they look at you as if your speaking a foreign language. The little boys look about like Kelsie’s age…I would never let my kids act this way in a public setting. I for one would not have brought the entire family, unless that is we all had appointments…Oh…I think that must be it..I mean, I would rather make one trip than 6 separate ones…So I smile and put these thoughts outta my mind…That is until, the dental assistant calls a name (the mom’s). The younger kids start pitching a fit about wanting to go back with her. (normal stuff really) And the dad grabs one up BY THE ARM, and yanks so hard I swear I heard it pop, and says “when mom comes out we can leave”. WHAT?! So, I am back to the question, why bring the whole family to one appointment??
Sincerely,
Family of 4
I kid you not…I am not sure why they all were there but I am sure of why they were misbehaving….Yanking your child up by the arm is not a form of discipline. And it is certainly NOT something that you should EVER do! Did I say anything to them? No, but I sure gave a nasty look along with the other 3 people that were in there.

Thanks so much for participating in "Open Letter Fridays" ... I'm having a great time reading all the "open letters" but your letter is by far the truest to form! I would've changed my appt. than to have to live thru that fiasco!

Hope you come back to visit soon ...

oh this made me laugh! i completely understand where you are coming from. doesn't it seem that this happens more and more often. and why is it that grocery shopping has become a family affair? if dad can come along with and bring the three 'toddlers', why can he not stay at home while mom shops? seems to me she (and I) would get our shopping done much faster this way:)

OK, at first I thought it was just mom and the kids...if dad was there why didn't he take them somewhere. That's crazy. People...
