Pulled Pork Sandwichs

So I told y’all yesterday about a recipe that involved the crock pot that was amazing.  Well, here it is!  I love buying roasts on sale at Publix and usually end up making pulled pork from them.  Only because it’s super easy to do.  Well this last time I made it I was thinking about flavoring the meat before I added the bbq sauce.  Glad I did because Zack said that this was the best roast he had ever had!!  I told him I couldn’t wait to share the recipe…he suggested that I keep it under raps.  But I couldn’t not share it. :-)

What do you need?

  • 1 small to medium size roast, your choice {I use the one with the least fat on sale}
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp crushed garlic
  • 3 tbsp bbq rib rub {seasoning you can buy}

What do you do?

  1. Place your roast into your crock pot.
  2. Place the chopped onion on top of the roast.
  3. Mix together soup mix, rib rub crushed garlic and water.
  4. Pour over roast.
  5. Cook on low for 7 to 8 hours.
  6. Remove roast from crock pot when ready to serve and shred.  Place back into crock pot and stir to coat the meat thoroughly with the liquid in the pot.
  7. Place on buns and top with your favorite bbq sauce.

You’ll think there is too much juice, but there’s not, that’s flavor and your gonna love it!  You may be tempted to also add salt to the roast at the beginning.  Don’t do it!  It will be salty enough with the soup mix.  Enjoy!
