Field Trip to the Fire Station

Kelsie had her first Kindergarten field trip yesterday, to the fire station.  It is located a little over 1/2 a mile away from the school, so we walked.

Thankfully it was nice and cool there and back so we didn’t sweat like little piggy’s!

The kids got to go inside the new training facility and watch a fire fighter put on his uniform and listen to him talk.  This was to teach the kids not to be scared if there is ever a fire and see one.  They admitted they can look quiet freighting.

We also watched a fire safety video that talked about the importance of not playing with matches and to always go outside to your meeting place if you have a fire.  The smoke alarm on the video sounded a lot like Gilbert Godfrey!  He was a hoot.  Then there was a cute song by Little Richie about fire safety.

We got the chance to go outside and see the ins and outs of the fire truck.  It was pretty fascinating, if I do say so myself! :-)

Then the kids got the chance to shoot the water hose.  It was Kelsie’s favorite!!  The firefighter that was with the hose told Kelsie that she was cute and he liked her pig tails! :-)  He was pretty cute himself! ;-)

The kids were fascinated with the rainbows that the water was making so after everybody had a turn, he made rainbows for the kids to look at.

What a fun field trip...so glad you go to go along. Kelsie looks like she had a blast, especially with the fire hose.
