This past weekend was a blast. My sister n law, Kay and niece, Amanda came down to visit. We always love getting together with my family. We have the best of times!
I searched high and low for a pumpkin patch close to us so that we could go. And low and behold I found one. However, after getting there we soon realized advertising isn’t always as it seems. The patch was a huge let down. It was 2 in the afternoon and they didn’t have the tractor ready for the hay ride. There was no actual “field” where the pumpkins were. {they were just sitting around} And there was only one bounce house as opposed to the two that was advertised and there was no “fun food” either. I was really looking forward to a funnel cake. :( Needless to say all we did was take pictures of all of us with pumpkins and pet the horses. We left and bought our pumpkins from Walmart, which had a better selection.
We were together though so we still made the best of it!
After we left we were starving, so we went to Pier Park to enjoy some Margaritaville and the kids {and Zack} enjoyed riding rides at Miracle Strip.
That night we decided not to carve our pumpkins since it is still SO hot here. They would just rot in a couple of days, so we opted to paint them. Kayla used the pumpkin on the front of the Martha Stewart magazine as her inspiration. Kelsie painted Frankenstein. I painted black and white polka dots and Amanda went with something a little more whimsical. It reminds me a lot of Dr. Seuss. They turned out perfect!!
They stayed until Monday so we had such a fabulous long weekend!! Now we are counting down to Thanksgiving so we get to spend time with them again!

That sounds like a really fun weekend. Sorry the pumpkin patch wasn't what you'd hoped it would be but glad you made the best of it. I love your pumpkin decorations!
