Jane Doe

I was on the phone with my bff earlier this evening.  Her Uncle passed away a couple of days ago and she went to his funeral and burial today.  The burial happened to be at the same cemetery that my mother is buried at.
She is so sweet and went over to mothers grave to check on things.  Mother is buried along with my grandmother, granddaddy, great grandmother and great granddaddy.  However, without my grandparents head stone and the fact that she was at mothers funereal, she would have never known the location mother was buried.
And as a matter of fact, she isn’t exactly sure where mother is.  Why? Because there is no marker there at all.
Why isn’t there a marker there?  Well, you’d have to ask the person that was married to her at the time.  Because I am sure if your spouse passes away before you that your going to make sure that they don’t lie in an unmarked grave.  Because you love that person.  You will miss that person.  You will want to make sure that you and your family and friends can visit the grave and bring flowers and or grieve for that person.  You don’t want them to lie in an unmarked grave like a Jane or John Doe.
But apparently the person she was married to didn’t care.  The person she was married to that paid for the funeral and the burial, it didn’t matter to them.  The person that had the money to put a marker at the grave decided that it wasn’t important, that she wasn’t important. The person she was married to didn’t care if people didn’t realize they were trampling across the top of a deceased person as they walk through the grave yard.
That person had other intentions.

That is just pitiful. Maybe someday you can have one made for her and give her a proper resting place. What a shame...
