Being Accountable

beingaccountable copy

Last week wasn’t all that for dieting.  Monday afternoon I was sick.  I mean throwing up 4 times in an hour sick.  It was bad.  I figured out that my body needed carbs.  Because afterall I had been on the South Beach Diet for almost a week and had lost 7 pounds…Zack fixed me a piece of cheese toast and some 7UP.  I sipped slowly and ate half the toast.  It stayed down and I felt so much better.

However for the next few days I was still nauseous off and on and my stomach hurt.  However I am all good now and up a pound.  But not bad for a week off and eating ice cream and any other carb I could get my hands on.

But yesterday I got back on my diet, officially starting Phase 2. I won’t add as many carbs in as I’m supposed to on Phase 2, but that’s ok.  I also worked out.  I will be working out at least 30 minutes a day this week and then next week I will be up to 45 mins…then up to an hour.  I want to make a difference in my health.

Ohhhh.  And I was in the shower the other night and come to the conclusion that my stretch marks aren’t as bad as I’ve made them out to be.  I have always been ashamed and detested my stretch marks.  I have seen them as scars of horror ever since Kayla was born, however I have seen them in a different light.

I looked down at my stomach and saw them gleaning back at me and I decided that it’s my body, they were brought on from being pregnant with Kayla.  And they are sorta by battle wounds from being pregnant.  So I am ok with them.

Now if only I would be ok with the flabby…HA!

Ooh, vomit...I'm so sorry, but glad you are feeling better. And look at you jumping right back in...whoo hoo. I went for a walk yesterday and I was so proud of myself...now I just have to keep it up.

My stretch marks don't see the light of day and my stomach is pretty much flat. They just ... will never look right. I avoid bikinis and am grateful for clothing. And glad that my husband doesn't seem to notice. Men are so much less judgmental of our bodies than we women are. Thank goodness! But it must be nice to make peace with your body too!
