I love chili…we eat it all the time! We certainly don’t limit it to fall and winter. But since it's now officially fall I thought that I’d share our recipe.
What will you need?
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large can crushed or diced tomatoes
- 1 regular can tomato sauce
- 1 cans light or dark red kidney beans
- 1 can spicy chili beans
- 1 chili season packet
- chili powder to taste
- 1/4 chopped onion
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
What do you do?
- Add meat and all the seasons but the season packet, brown and drain your ground beef. Add chili season packet {fill this packet with water and pour in}. Add onion and garlic and crushed tomatoes.
- In blender or food processor add 1/2 of the can of tomato sauce and 1 can beans, blend well, pour into pot. Add the remainder sauce and other can of beans, blend well, pour into pot. {this is optional but the reason this recipe won a blue ribbon at a church chili cook off}
- Bring to a boil and then simmer for at least an hour. This chili is so much better after simmering all day long.
We serve this with grated cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Grilled cheese and crackers are also the norm as well. Enjoy!

Yummy! Rondell only likes chili in the winter but I can eat it anytime. I'm so bad, I have not been cooking much at all.
I agree with Kelli...I have not been cooking much during the week cause of so many different things going on in the afternoon.
Your chilli sounds yummy! I make mine about like this but we only eat it in the fall and winter...I know strange I say.
