Our Disney World Vacation Part 1

After the long 6 1/2 hour drive, we finally arrived at our hotel, Pop Century!

Let me start by saying that last year we stayed in a deluxe resort, The Polynesian and Pop Century which is a value resort was just as nice, smaller rooms but just as nice.  I think that you are paying for the monorail when you are staying at a deluxe resort. {my opinion}  Don’t get me wrong, the Polynesian was spectacular.  However, you don’t have to spend that kind of money to have a great hotel.  We plan on staying at Pop Century again sometime.
We arrived late Wednesday night so we went to bed soon after we got there.  Thursday morning we were up and headed to the Magic Kingdom!!

On our first day we rode Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, the Tea Cups, and Astro Orbitor.  It was so crowded.  The lines were brutal and the heat was extreme.  We won’t be going back on Spring Break in March again.  Last year we went in February and even though the weather was cold, the lines weren’t bad at all.

The view of the castle from the top of Astro Orbitor was amazing!
We ate dinner at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café.  It’s across the bridge close to the Tea Cup ride.  We all got burgers.  They were not good!!  Lesson learned and we won’t be eating there again.  We’ll have to try somewhere else the next time around.  The buns were too big for the meat and it was dry.  Overall it just didn’t have any flavor at all.  Kelsie got chicken nuggets and seemed fairly satisfied.  Maybe we should have opted for the kids meal chicken nuggets as well.   Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only bad meal we had while at Disney World.  I’ll have a whole post dedicated to where and what we ate at the end of our vacation posts.  We did hit up some great places that are must eats!

So fun! We stayed at Pop Century the last time we went and it was nice. In August we are staying at The Wilderness Lodge and I'm hoping that it is worth the few extra dollar to stay in a deluxe resort:) I can't wait to hear more about your trip!

AHHHHH I love DIsney World. We went last June-- you can see my chronicles of disney world on my blog. We stayed at Port Orleans though.

I am so excited to see the rest of the trip and am jealous you can drive there! Though 6 hours is long.time. :(

We were at Epcot 12/21 and it was PACKED. We didnt get to ride any of the main attractions - there was 190 minute wait for the Test Track! And they ran out of Fast Passes! But we went free so I can complain I guess. We went to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios 3/2-3/4 in 2007 and it wasnt bad at all.
