8 weeks ago today, I decided that I would make a lifestyle change. I wanted to eat healthy, drink more water and exercise. These are all key ingredients for a long life. A long life that I want. I want to be around for my kids and grandkids. I want to be able to run around in the yard and swim in the pool. These are all things that I haven’t had the energy for, for a long time. But I’m getting there now!
I have lost a total of 8.7 pounds, which in 8 weeks only amounts to about a pound a week, but I have learned that the scale is evil and numbers don’t mean anything. ;-) I am down a pant size and shirt size!! Measuring by the way your clothes fit is so much more satisfying. Or at least it is for me. I’m not where I want to be quiet yet. I’d really like to be down another 10 or 15 pounds but that is just so that my BMI is in the healthy range. And I know that if I continue what I’ve been doing that it will happen. And I’m confident with the slow weight loss that it will stay off a lot easier.
Working out…Yea, I’ve been doing some of that.
Thursday – Didn’t work out
Friday – Didn’t work out
Saturday - 700
Sunday – Didn’t work out
Monday – 700
Tuesday – 500
Wednesday – 500
I’m thinking about this week switching up my workout. I have been using nothing but my elliptical for 8 weeks, which I am still in love with, however, I am concerned with my body getting used to the same thing. I change up a different preset workout each time I do it, and make sure that I workout to the best of my ability but I still think that I could do better. So I am going to break out some workout dvd’s this week. :/ Not knowing how many calories I’m going to be burning isn’t all that great, but I’ve got to do something different.
I know that strength training is very important, yet I haven’t picked up a free weight yet. Sooo, that is going to be one thing I add to my workouts. I plan on doing that tonight.
Here’s to a new week!!

You are doing great, girl! That is awesome! You are right...the scales help, but don't mean everything. The way you feel and clothes are a better way to tell how far you have come. You have been dedicated to that machine something serious! :) Keep it up!
I think switching up the routine this point would be a good idea too. The videos will help tone some too.
I need to get my butt in gear...uhhgggg.
Are you doing so well. 8 pounds is great! I do think switching the routine is a good idea so you don't get bored.
Great job!! 8 pounds is wonderful! If you have an iPad the "lose it" app (which is free). Has a calorie counter & calorie burned per an activity, for the length of time you do the activity example: aerobics, yoga, etc...
I am on a weight loss journey as well - it can be tough but I know the reward will be sweet!!
