I’m a Yoursphere Test Drive Mom

With technology practically knocking down our doors and social media at an all time high with adults as well as children it’s hard to know what to let your child join or not. They may ask to join everything they hear about but sometimes that’s not always best.
Kayla has a Facebook but I monitor it almost daily.  I know who her friends are and when she posts on somebody’s wall, I head over to check out just what she is saying.  But Kayla has a good head on her shoulders, which is some what of a relief for me.  She unfriended a girl she goes to school with because she was cussing all the time and Kayla felt that it was not right.
However, it’s hard when it comes to joining groups and what not, because you can’t not look at something somebody says or “unfriend” them.  So I don’t allow her to join any groups.  Which I know is not any fun and it’s hard to connect with anybody outside of who she knows personally.
She wanted a Myspace but I said no.  There is just too much personalization going on, there is no telling what she’ll see or hear for that matter with the fact you can have music on your profile page.  Plus I can’t keep track to well because I have no idea how to figure out what she wrote or when she wrote on somebody else’s profile.
After saying all that, I have to tell y’all about a site called Yoursphere.  I was chosen to be a Yourshere Test Drive Mom and this couldn’t have come at a better time.  Yoursphere is made just for tweens and teens.  It’s a way that parents can monitor their kids social media whereabouts.  Plus, my favorite part is the fact that parents have to verify their kids accounts before they can join any spheres. {groups}
We have signed up and have accounts and Kayla is learning her way around.  She is thrilled that she can have a blog as well.  {she has been asking for one for sometime now}  So over the next few months I’ll be telling y’all all about Yoursphere and our experience.  I hope that if you have tweens that you’ll think about joining and getting involved, it’s a fun, safe place for our kids to play and be surrounded with kids their own ages.
If you’d like to check it out, I promise you and your child will love it, you can use this code YSMC-0033 in your registration process so that I can get credit. : )
Plus, guess what, all this safety for our kids is FREE! {which I feel is top notch!!}
