Splenda Sweetener Blog Tour

image

When I got the chance to try out the popular artificial sweetener Splenda and the Splenda Tastebook I was thrilled.  I love Truvia and wondered if Splenda was similar in flavor.  I am not a fan of artificial sweeteners at all.  The funky flavor that they leave behind are not good.  However Truivia, and now Splenda are my top picks.  Although, I do love that Splenda comes in large packages so that you can cook with it!

I have always wondered what it would be like to cook and or bake with an artificial sweetener but just never gave it a shot.  That was until I had this tastebook in my hands!

I tried out 3 recipes from the book that I received.  Please forgive me for not getting photos.  You know how much I like to show y’all what I’ve ate but for some reason I didn’t think about snapping photos since none of these {that I tried out} were actual meals.

I made the Sweet Hot Chocolate.  My opinion – Yum!  Although I used whole milk as opposed to the 2% as suggested.

Next up was the Orange Cream Chiller.  My opinion -  Oh my goodness, this tastes like a orange creamcicle!!!  That is all I can say.

The last thing I made was the Very Berry Blueberry Muffins.  My opinion – Tastes just like the muffin mix from the pouch that you buy in the grocery store.  Definitely a lot better for you though!

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Splenda and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, a donation was made in my name to the Meals on Wheel organization to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

My husband and I are big fans of Truvia because it's a natural sweetener and is a great alternative for people who are searching for a zero calorie substitute for sugar along with people who have diabetes.

Here's some of the ways we use it and hopefully you can try some too!

1. Mix with Berries (Strawberries, Blueberries and raspberries)

2. Mix with Melon and Pineapple

3. Combine Truvia and Cinnamon together for a great little treat that you can sprinkle on top on several things such as:
A. Oatmeal
B. Baked Apples
3. Warm Balsamic Peaches
4. GG BranCrisps

Hope you can try some and look forward to reading more.
