I am Really Lucky

As I think about my life, I can think of a million and one things I’d like to change.  As I’m sure we all can.  Who wouldn’t want a little extra income to help pay the bills?!  I would also love to change the fact that my mother is gone and that my dad had a much later in life mid life crisis.  I would love to change the fact that Kayla’s sperm donor has nothing to do with her at all.  I’d love to change the fact that my kids only have one great Aunt and she lives 5 hours away.  I’d love to change the fact that my sister n law is not a family oriented person, but would rather “socialize” with her friends. And I’d love to change the fact that we live in Florida, when my heart is in Bama.  There are other things I’d love to change, some drastic and others not so much.

But at the end of the day, I think long and hard and I really am lucky to have what I have.

Sometimes things are said to me that make me realize my luck.  Sometimes I watch something and realize it and other times I read a story and see it.

I am lucky to have a husband that isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty and work in the yard, unclog a toilet, finish a bathroom project that I started and clean the kitchen up after dinner.

I am lucky to have a husband that will sit and scratch and caress my arms and legs when I ask.  I am lucky that I have a husband that will hand the remote over to me at night so that I can be in charge of the tv.

I am lucky to have a husband that will cook dinner or wash clothes and clean the house when I’m sick and not feeling up to it.

I am lucky to have kids.  I am lucky to have two beautiful healthy girls, that are super smart and love one another.

I am lucky to have a roof over my head in a beautiful house.  I am lucky to have children that allow this beautiful house to stay that way. : )

I am lucky to have family.  My brother, his wife and kids {not really kids anymore!}.  I am lucky to have my cousins that are in my life.  And I have an Uncle and Aunt {not really aunt anymore but still look at her that way} that are there for us.

So, the next time you decide you’d like to change things, think about how lucky you are to have what you’ve got!

I agreed with you 100%. I fret every month about paying bills and keeping enought pantry items. My husband is out of work and has been for a while now, but he does a lot around the house and he will be keeping our child this summer saving on summer camp. my son and his dad have a good time and he teaches him so much that i could not. So when I am down I just thank the good Lord above that I have what I have and able to pay for it all. You are blessed...

Great post! I get down often thinking of the things I wish we had (a house, better paying jobs, less debt, etc.). Then I take a step back and realize how good we have it.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Sidenote: I just realized you have a Swagbuck's swidget. I just started a couple weeks ago...have you cashed in for any rewards yet?

Good post! I can relate to having things in my life I'd like to change (and really can't anyway) and things in my life that are really wonderful!
