Desk and Chair Makeover ~ Before and After

DIY Day @ ASPTL

So last week I posted about Kayla’s dresser that I painted, well I knew the minute that I finished with it that I would be doing her desk and chair the exact same way.
Here it is before of the chair and desk. Sorry the desk is all laid out, I was very excited!

And the after…..

Ahhhh, much better. Oh and yes if you look very close, (I’m keeping it real) you will see some chips in the paint above and below the drawers. I was trying to get it all put back together before it was completely dry! See I told y’all I was excited. (and yes I spray painted the knobs and pulls with brushed nickel just like I did the dresser)
Oh and don’t you just love that chair?! You see Kayla is unaware but for Christmas (shhh!!) she is getting a new bed in a bag with polka dots on it, kinda similar to the storage cube over to the right in the picture and of course that color is on it. So it will all come together and match perfectly!
Did you notice the little pink and purple jars on the left side of the desk? The big one is a pickle jar and the smaller is a jam jar! I know!! I just spray painted them and it’s perfect for her colored pencils and pen and pencils.
I wonder what I can paint and make over next…Hmmm. Maybe that sewing machine which is holding Kayla’s tv?

" When I write or share something about one of my friends in a posting, I always make sure I send them a copy of it, so they know what was said about them. Today I included information about you and your blog site in my posting, so I thought I should let you know about it as well."

The above paragraph is the first paragraph in an email I sent out today, to all of the owners of blogs whom host "theme days", that I could find email addresses for. {But I could not find an email address on your blog.} I have decided that from now on the only ones I will do such for, are any new "theme day(s)" hosts I find, whom I can not find an email address for. Contacting so-o many of you this way just takes w-a-y to much time!!! If you wish to again be notified that I am including you in a list, then PLEASE send me your email address via - pinkbunnies (at) sbcglobal (dot) com. I hereby promise I will NOT be giving it out. Also, please put something about "theme days" in the subject line. Thanks!!

The rest of the email is what I posted today on our blog. Go to: www.xanga.com/thehousethatlovebuilt to read it for yourself.

Hopefully, it will then clarify of all of this for you ;-}

Hi there!
I popped over from ASPTL. Love your redo. I used to have a bedroom set like that. I always wondered if it was paintable and real wood. I kept the set until I had children and then gave it away.

Oh my! I have that desk. It was mine as a teen.

SUPER great makeover! I love how you took something old, and dated and made it look brand new! Your daughter is going to love her new room, especially when the bedding set comes at Christmas!

Also, LOVE your pickle and jam jars! I haven't thought about spray painting jars!
