I have seen this done all over, so I will not give credit to anyone because I would have to list many many blogs and I am unsure where I first saw this. *smiles* But I will say that lot’s have done it and will continue to do so.
My china cabinet is a family heirloom. She’s been with this family for a very long time. Belonging to my great grandmother and passed down to now me. I do not own fine china at the moment so it is home to the dishes that were in my hope chest when I was a wee little one. One day I hope to have fine china sitting inside, but until then these dishes are beautiful enough.
Onto pictures.. *smiles* I know your wanting to see what I have done. It’s the old scrapbooking paper! I think it’s just wonderful. It really makes the things inside her pop. Dishes and glassware were lost in the sea of cherry wood backing but now they stand out. Speaking for themselves.
As you can see I went with the classic Toile print for the top and bottom shelf and the center I went with a diamond pattern. The toile has been finished for a while now, but every time I ventured into Hobby Lobby they were out of the diamonds so I had to wait to show you all.
I added a little bit of fall to her as well. *smiles* I did say a little bit!
(please excuse any blurry or fuzzy pictures, my once wonderful camera is now giving me lot’s of problems)
Like I said, a little bit of decorating goes a long way. Just the paper really made this once tired look, pop! Plus the little touches or orange really made a difference as well.
Tomorrow…My new love…Feathers!

Looks great J! Love it! P.S. I am sooo glad that all of those dishes did not crash onto the floor when I bumped into it when I was visiting :)

I love it. I am thinking of doing my pie safe this way and paint it black. I have been real chicken but my mind is about made up. So many out here on blogland are painting and adding scrappin paper, which turns out so cute.
I love the new look of your china cabinet!!
