Coffee Table Decor. This Southern Girl, She Really Hasn’t Got a Clue!

I have been at a blank on what to put on a coffee table as decoration. I used to have my parenting magazines fanned out on one end (yes, like a dr’s office) and then a jar candle on the other. This isn’t pretty, and I know this.

Then there was the Christmas before last that my brother and sister n law purchased something for my coffee table, it included a black tray with votive candle holders with rocks around the glass holders. This was only used for a short amount of time. Besides at the time Kelsie was a lot younger and into it, I just wasn’t really feeling it. (ya know?)

Truth be told, I have no idea what to put on a coffee table. I have these ideas in my head, but when I go to buy these things, they just don’t pan out, looking right to me. Maybe my coffee table is doomed to be bare. (I hope not) At the moment, I have the fall raggamuffin garland and my white ceramic pumpkin sitting in the center (a previous post). During Christmas I have a big vase with Christmas balls in it. Would I like to decorate my coffee table differently? Of course! I just need a little help. Because you see, while searching for coffee table decor, I come up short.

What am I to do? Start searching again? Ask you ladies what is on yours? I am at a loss for this one. My ideas for mine….Well, I have two different visions. The first one is a bird cage, something similar to these ….

I would go with painting in black…But what to put in it, well I was thinking I really like that top one with a nest. So, I would probably put a nest. Maybe do the letter “B” with some scrapbook paper, similar to the ones that everyone is doing. And maybe some other little something in it. It would go more towards one side and not the center. (this is in my vision of course) I really seem to like this idea, but then after getting to the store getting ready to purchase one, I can’t see it anymore, and I am like “this would look terrible”.

My next idea would be to buy several different heights of glass candle holders. We love candles and burn them often. After looking at some, I am worried that with the kids (although they aren’t allowed to play in the living room, sometimes it happens) I am worried they will get knocked over. Are these top heavy? Here is a sample of what I’d like to have. I will say 3 different heights grouped together.

candleholders What will I end up doing? I have no idea! I am lost like I said. We will see!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Guess I don't have to worry about that cause I don't have a coffee table. Can't wait to see what you came up with.

I always have coffee table issues too.

I just have a simple iron looking basket on mine that I change out with the season....I'm sure it is one of my posts...right now that basket has some pumpkins around it and in the basket are pinecones. The last thing I had were seashells in the basket with a nest....and also a bunny by the basket. We always have to have it to the side so we can change channels with the remote and it is not blocked.

I am no help. I am still in the phase with young kids and can't think about these things for quite a few years, I'm afraid. For what it's worth I like the basket of apples photo you had, maybe with a few candles? Show us what you decide to do!

For years now, I've always had one big floral arrangement for the focal point (they've changed over the years)and then just switch out different things around it depending on the time of year. You can see my coffee table on my post about Fall nesting. : ) Good luck,

That's a difficult one for me too! Most of them time our coffee table ends up with the remotes and hubby's cigars! Not in line with my decorating vision!
