Babycakes Cake Pop Maker

Ok, so have y’all noticed the craze of the cake pops over the past year or so?  My next question is have you tempted to make them?
Well, I have.  A little over a year ago my niece and I made cake pops.  The recipe was one that is on that of a top blogger that creates all those fun cake pops.  It seemed easy enough but as we made them one hot June day, it soon became apparent that it wasn’t as easy as it appeared to be.  Our cake pops wouldn’t stay on the stick, they weren’t round and they weren’t pretty to look at.  Was it the recipe?  Was it the humidity in the South?  We will never know.  That was the first and last attempt at those cake pops.
Until….an awesome invention by a company by the name of Babycakes cjuly 2011 001ame out with the cake pop maker.  When Mom Central sent out the email to review one of the many Babycakes products, I chose the cake pop maker as my number one choice. I crossed my fingers, toes, legs and even braided my hair.  I really wanted that cake pop maker!!  And…I got it!  Guess all that crossing paid off.
When I got the Babycakes Cake Pop Maker I read all the reviews on their website and read the instruction booklet a couple of different times.  I chose to start out with the apple cider doughnut holes {this recipe is in the booklet that it comes with, along with a lot of other yummy recipes}.  I wanted to see how simple it was to use.  I bought the ingredients that I didn’t already have on hand and my girls and I got busy.
I made sure to use a piping bag to pipe the mixture into the cavities because it starts to cook as soon as the mixture hits the hot plate.  {this was mentioned in the instruction booklet}  It worked like a charm!

Once the doughnut holes were ready to come out, about 4 minutes, they just slid right out with the help of the fork tool. {it’s included}  I rolled the doughnut holes in the cinnamon sugar mixture and wahlah, in less than the time it bakes a cake I had a few dozen doughnut holes ready to eat!

I have to say that I absolutely love this product and can’t want to make cake pops for birthdays or just whenever.
If you’ve been hesitant about making cake pops, I highly recommend picking this item up.  You’ll love it and your cupcake pops and doughnut holes will be a hit!

“I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Babycakes and received a product sample and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”

You get to try out some of the coolest things! :o)

I've seen these around and wondered how they'd work. I'm anxious to know how you feel about making cake pops with them. I keep thinking they'd be easier, but wouldn't taste as good since the cake wouldn't be mixed with frosting before they're coated.
