Ya Know What. I’m Not a Sale Out!

As I noticed a decrease in my comments I wondered when it started happening….So I took a look back within Blogger and I was surprised to see it was around the same time that I merged my review blog with this blog.  I am sorta upset about that.  Not the merging, because it was best for me.  Managing more than one blog is hard work and I don’t recommend it to a mother at all.  Unless one of the blogs is a family, private blog or it’s a blog that you don’t post on often, etc.  That’s neither here nor there though.

I thought maybe I had offended somebody.  But that would have only been a few.  I thought maybe it was because I wasn’t posting many crafts or “fun stuff” anymore, but then the more I thought about it, nah, because I didn’t post that much stuff anyways.  Because that’s not what this blog is all about.  It’s about whatever is going on in my life, whether it’s a craft, a new recipe, my kids or a rant about the in laws.

So, yes, it’s because I started posting reviews.  But I want y’all to know that I no longer review things because I want to increase traffic, because obviously by moving the reviews here, I lost traffic, a lot of it.  I review items now that we actually use in our home.  Not that the reviews I did on JoJos Place were not items we used, they were but they weren’t something we would go out and buy just to try out.  Now they are.  I am not getting paid to do reviews unless it’s stated.  That is only every once in a while, with Mom Central.  I have to be chosen, so I have to actually fill out something stating I want to review what it is that is being offered.  But the money isn’t it.  I am reviewing it because it’s a new brand of something we like and use and it saves me money.  Saving money by doing reviews is now a main goal of mine.  Getting items just to review them is too much dang work.  And I’m not all about that anymore.

It’s hard to look at your comments and see that they have decreased.  It’s hard to see your traffic drop like a rock.  But I wanted you all to know that I’m not a sale out, and that this blog is still my own.  Sure I added an add on the sidebar.  But so what.  It’s something that we use, yes, yes it is.  We are married and that part of our marriage as in all runs slowly after a while, so we all need a little something sometimes to spice it up, to keep things alive.

So yes, as I write reviews, if you don’t want to read them, don’t.  But please don’t not visit because of the few reviews I do.  I do a lot more personal posts than reviews!  And that will always be the case.

I can always tell if something is a review by the title and if I'm not interested I skip it. I don't know, many bloggers seem to go through cycles. I've found bloggers who comment a lot for a long time and then they just stop. They usually stop making posts on their own blogs too. I think that they get busy and don't blog as much as they used to. Unless a blogger is getting new blog followers consistently the comments will probably eventually go down somewhat. That's my best guess. But maybe it is the reviews?

Joanna,

I use to read your blog a lot, and would comment from time to time. Softball and baseball season has started up making it impossible for me to read blogs the way I use to. I just happened to have a few extra minutes today, when I noticed your post. I just wanted to give you a little encouragement and let you know that some of us are still around! My lack of commenting has nothing to do with you or anything that you have done!

It seems like Ive had somewhat of a decline, too. Not that I ever had a ton, but people who used to comment all the time dont seem to anymore.
